Full Moon from Walcha

NBN Weathershots Image

The Full Moon taken afocally (camera through eyepiece) through my 10" Reflector from Walcha, NSW.
The view through the telescope was amazing if not a little blinding but the varying colours of the dark maria or "seas" were certainly noticable to the eye. The bright rays from crater Tycho (at the bottom) is quite prominent during full moon, and other rays from younger impacts are also visible as well as the paler areas of the more ancient and heavily impacted lunar highlands.

Cheers!
